LeaseTrade.com's founder became frustrated after discovering that his
vehicle lease contract did not offer a cost-effective early termination
option. In search of an option to get out
from under the lease payments, he found that lease assumption by another
was the only option offered by his lease company. Unfortunately there weren't any effective methods to advertise the lease vehicle for assumption. With other websites charging excessive fees and acting as inefficient middlemen, the early lease websites came up short. In addition, the lack of buyer awareness about the benefits of assuming
a lease also made it difficult to find a buyer. From this frustration,
the idea for an inexpensive, efficient, educational marketplace for
lease trading was born.
